Why Is Soda So Bad?!

Why do people drink soda? I'll tell you why. Because its very tasty, its everywhere, convenience, "Grab-n-Go"!, promotion and advertising, habit, its cheap, thirst and caffeine addiction.
So why would you want to give up soda anyway? Now let me tell you why.
There is nothing in soda that should be put into your body. Rory Freedman, a new york time bestseller author, explains in one of her books that soda's high levels of phosphorus can increase calcium loss from the body, as can its sodium and caffeine. That means bone loss, which may lead to osteoporosis. And now you think "well I drink diet soda". Let me tell you something, that is even worse. Aspartame (an ingredient commonly found in diet sodas and other sugar-free foods) has been blame  for a lot of maladies. Some of the ninety-two side effects listed include memory loss, nerve cell damage, migraines, reproductive disorders, mental confusion, brain lesion, blindness, joint pain, bloating, nervous system disorders, hair loss, food cravings, arthritis, birth defects, fibromyalgia, Alzheimer's, lupus, multiple sclerosis, diabetes and weight gain, among others WOW!!  When methyl alcohol, a component of aspartame, enters your body, it turns into formaldehyde. Formaldehyde is toxic and carcinogenic (cancer causing). Laboratory scientists use formaldehyde as a disinfectant or preservative. So why would you drink it??
Soda replaces healthier drinks. By drinking soda, you cut the intake of fresh juices, water and deprive yourself from essential vitamins and minerals. Water is the best drink in the world also tea, any kind of tea, herbal, green or black, are rich in antioxidants, which were shown to protects the body form many health problems. Also 100% Juice. Fruit juice can be also useful for flavoring your water and teas.
Stock your fridge, desk, car or purse with a new replacement drink, there are many varieties available.
Remember your body deserves only the best of the best!!

Why Diets Don’t Work???

Have you ever got exhausted, sick and tired of dieting and counting calories?...been there, done that!
Why is it that we never get anywhere when we put our selves under a huge amount of pressure all because we just want to lose weight!?
Well let me tell you why. The notion of deprivation for a certain period of time to get to your goal is ridiculous. Think about it, you try to start a diet, so whats the first thing you do? You stop eating probably half of the food you normally eat. After few day or maybe two weeks of intense struggle, you get discouraged because you don't see the results you would love to see and, since you see no results, you think its no longer worth your time, so you go back to your old habits. But this time is worse. People who use fad diets usually end up gaining back any weight lost and, many times, gain even more weight.
Like I explained in my first post, there are no shortcuts, and these magical diets don’t offer long-term success, and some may even be dangerous to your health.
When someone stops eating certain types of food or eats “special” combinations of foods, resulting in fewer calories being consumed, initially weight can be lost. Unfortunately, most of this weight lost is from water and lean muscle, not body fat.
Bethenny Frankel explains in her Naturally Thin book that life is ongoing. If you find out how to be your healthiest every day, allow yourself indulgences and determine how to have a healthy every day relationship with food and exercise, then you will be fit forever with no ups and downs. Food isn't your best friend or your enemy. You aren't good if you starve and aren't bad if you eat. You are allowed to eat. But always make good choices, eating the best of the best and remember that your diet is your bank account and you can learn how to manage it in your own life. So live your life, be healthy and be happy!!

A moment in your lips is a lifetime in your hips!!

Let's be honest! No one has ever lost weight by eating junk food. Junk food has title or no nutritional value. Not only that, they also have ingredients considered unhealthy. They have high levels of saturated fats, salt, or sugar, and little or no fruit, vegetables, or fiber; they have no health benefits.
So, one of the things that will definitely make you lose those extra pounds is changing your eating habits. Think about your body as a car, a very nice car. Lets say a Bugatti Veyron, MSRP from 1.7 million dollars. If you know about cars, you know what I'm talking about. It's considered one of the most expensive cars in the market. I'm sure if you had one, you would really take care of it and make sure you use the best fuel, oil, additives, etc. Only the best of the best, right? Well your body is an amazing machine, and you have to make sure you treat it like one by eating the best of the best to make it function the proper way.

In the book Naturally Thin, Bethenny Frankel talks about  the importance of eating healthy without dieting. She talks about balancing your food choices, just like you balance your spending and savings account. Making smart investments in healthful foods that will fill you up.
So, how can you start making good investments? I'm going to give 3 steps that I learned from her book that will help you make good investments.

1. Don’t eat too much of any one thing, balance starches with proteins, vegetables and fruits with sweets.  Let’s say you had pancakes for breakfast. They’re fine and starchy and sweet. So what do you have for lunch? Pasta? Of course not. That’s more starch. Because you had starch and sugar earlier in the day, you now need protein and vegetables.
2. Eat Real food and limit processed. Choose food that’s as close to its natural state as possible. Raw vegetables, in particular, are high in fiber and volume so when you eat them first you end up with less room in your stomach for other, higher-calorie foods. Start your meal with a big salad (oil and vinegar dressing) or a bowl of vegetable soup and you won’t have much room left for food with more fat and calories.
3.Downsize your portions. If you put a little food on a big plate, you’re going to feel cheated. So use a salad plate. Keep them at the front of your cabinet, and grab those first.

Remember, a moment in your lips is a lifetime in your hips, start making good investments!! :))

What can I do to lose 10lbs in a week???

I'm sure you've heard this before or you have asked this yourself.
As a fitness instructor I get this question a lot. But my answer is always the same. There is no magical solution, no magical diet or magical exercise you can do to lose weight in a few days.
We now live in a society that has little to no time for anything, the microwave society. According to the Urban dictionary, the microwave society is the mindset of wanting (and nearly getting) everything "RIGHT NOW".
So how is this affecting health. Well, there are so many impostors out there that will tell you that they have found the "best" pill, the "best" diet, the "best" exercise, the "best" massage, the "best" lotion, the "best" laser, the "best" medication, the "best" tea to lose weight in one week or maybe two weeks. But let me tell you something. It's not going to work.
In order to achieve your goals you have to change your life style! Yes, Its a life style!  You have to start making good decisions.
There is a very famous quote, "consistency is the key to success." Consistency means the achievement of a level of performance that does not vary greatly in quality over time.
So, to achieve good results that last, one must be consistent. If you want to lose weight and look better, you must change your life style and be consistent. If you think that you can't change then you wont. You must change the way you think and understand that if you want something you will have to fight for it. Nothing that comes easily is worth it!
Keep in mind that you are a strong person with great attributes. So if you want it you can have it! If you want a better and healthier life, you can have it!
In my next post, I will start writing about some very important facts in order to become fit and fabulous!

Thank you for reading my post hope you enjoyed it!!

Until next time!! :)) xOxO
